Lucknow: Lucknow Farmers Market on Sunday hosted its earth day special, ‘Crops and Weaves’ edition at the Habibullah Estate in Hazratganj, bringing together a vibrant mix of sustainability, tradition and community spirit. The venue transformed into a lively hub where the scent of fresh produce mingled with the charm of handcrafted goods, drawing visitors from across the city.Around 45 stalls showcased an array of eco-conscious offerings, from chemical-free food products to artisanal crafts. Handmade wooden neem combs and farm-fresh strawberries emerged as major attractions, while visitors eagerly picked up homemade pickles, tea cakes, cold-pressed oils, desi cow ghee, forest honey and freshly milled flour. Mithali Maheshwari, who displayed neem combs and spices, said, “All my products are made with natural materials. There is no artificial agent or preservative added. Neem combs are especially beneficial as they act as antifungal for the scalp.” Similarly, Richa Chaturvedi offered cold-pressed oils, home-grown pulses, spices and fresh pickles, reflecting a return to traditional food practices.Herbal skincare products also drew significant attention. Jyoti Singh, a regular attendee, stated that she prefers buying organic goods from the market as packaged items often contain chemicals. Ritika Bhardwaj spoke about purchasing herbal skincare and organic strawberries, while Sarthak Singh recommended home-grown pulses and beetroot pickle as must-buys.Founder and CEO Jyotsna Kaur Habibullah said, “The Lucknow Farmers Market is not just a marketplace, but a movement towards mindful living—connecting people directly with farmers, artisans and sustainable choices.”
