Provided 9L govt jobs in nine yrs to boost UP’s economy: Yogi | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that in the past nine years, at least 9 lakh people have joined govt services, supporting the state’s growth and strengthening its role in India’s economy.Addressing a programme for distribution of appointment letters to 665 nursing officers at Lok Bhavan, the CM said, “Earlier, the state struggled to pay salaries, but today it is a revenue-surplus state and among the top three economies in the country. UP’s per capita income has nearly tripled since 2016.”He said that promoting talent benefitted the state and country, adding recruitment was monitored at every stage to ensure transparency.“Our third eye keeps watch on those who try to tamper with the recruitment process. We identify them early and take strict action,” he added.Yogi highlighted that the state has progressed across sectors and the identity crisis among youth has been resolved. He said that while many countries around the world have declared an “emergency” due to the crisis in West Asia, India is moving forward with full strength due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “visionary” leadership.“The Gulf War has created an atmosphere of instability. Many countries have started reducing working hours and wages because their economies are failing. In the US, which is less dependent on the Gulf countries, the prices of petroleum products are skyrocketing,” he said.“The condition is bad in countries around India, such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Indonesia,” he said. The CM emphasised that India was moving forward steadily and govt decisions had ensured benefits reached all.He added that rumours about LPG supply and lockdowns were baseless and urged people not to panic. “If a gas cylinder lasts 25 days, why stand in line on the seventh day,” he asked.Referring to the inauguration of Noida airport by PM Narendra Modi, he noted that the facility reflects the state’s capacity for large projects and will provide direct employment to one lakh youth. He remarked that the region, once known for crime, had become a major investment hub with projects like film city, universities and industrial parks. He added that PM Modi recently laid the foundation for a semiconductor unit, emphasising that semiconductors were now as critical as oil.Yogi asserted that such progress was not possible before 2017 due to lack of intent and alleged that some people were trying to disrupt development by spreading misinformation. He added that the PM ensured vaccines and facilities during Covid-19 and urged people to stay alert against misinformation.Yogi said that 500 people from a village on the India-Nepal border in Bahraich were rehabilitated with houses, land rights and Rs 21 lakh assistance per family, along with basic facilities. He highlighted that before 2017 there was only one cyber police station, while now all 75 districts has one, along with cyber help desks in all 1,681 police stations. He added that forensic labs and a State Institute of Forensic Sciences have also been set up.He said that earlier hospitals were built mainly for publicity while nursing staff were neglected, and recruitment was not fair. MSME sector now employs over 3 crore people, he said. The CM said that several leaders avoided Noida due to “superstitions” but he rejected their claims.“These people who believe in superstitions dared to raise a finger on India’s faith. While serving as chief minister, he never visited that place. Yet today, driven by divisive politics, he arrived at Noida and Greater Noida. Back then, he acted as an impediment to the region’s development and erected obstacles and barriers. With what right do they speak of development today,” Yogi asked.Yogi highlighted that Lucknow’s RMLIMS had built a strong reputation and, along with SGPGI and KGMU, played a key role in curbing Covid-19.He emphasised that more women than men had been selected as nursing officers and that the govt was running 31 new nursing colleges, while developing centres of excellence at SGPGI and KGMU.Yogi asserted that work continues every day, including Sundays, stressing the need for consistent effort.Deputy CM and health minister Brajesh Pathak, minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, additional chief secretary Amit Ghosh, RMLIMS director Dr CM Singh and KGMU VC Dr Soniya Nityanand were present.
