BJP should help people get LPG cylinders: Akhilesh | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday criticised the BJP govt over the shortage of cooking gas and questioned why the party brass was not coming forward to help people. In a statement issued in Lucknow, Akhilesh said: “If the BJP claims there is no shortage of gas, then leaders and workers of the party — which calls itself the world’s largest political organisation — should come out and help the people to ensure that they receive gas cylinders from agencies.““Should people now start surrounding the houses, offices, establishments and vehicles of BJP leaders to draw attention to the issue? Whenever shortages increases, the BJP goes into denial mode instead of addressing the problem,” he alleged.Referring to past crises, he said that similar claims were made during the coronavirus pandemic when there were widespread complaints of oxygen shortages. He alleged that the BJP often allowed profiteering during crises and did not take responsibility for difficulties faced by the public. He said the people should not be forced to suffer because of the govt’s mistakes and urged it to take concrete steps. He also suggested that those claiming to serve the public should open free community kitchens. “If they cannot help the hungry, then they should at least refrain from making hollow claims,” he added.SP leaders attend ‘iftar’ hosted by Minority Sabha An iftar was organised by Maulana Iqbal Qadri, national president of the Samajwadi Party Minority Sabha, in the state capital on Friday evening.
