If the brain shows recognition patterns, it may indicate prior knowledge of the crime.
In this case, investigators are considering using brain mapping to determine whether the boy had specific knowledge about the planning or execution of the murder—details that only the perpetrator would know. It can also help verify inconsistencies in statements or detect concealed information.
