Unusually warm weather as max & min temps soar | Lucknow News
Lucknow: The state capital experienced unusually warm weather on Thursday, with both day and night temperatures recorded above normal. The mercury levels, however, are expected to drop to normal levels in the next two days. According to the state met office, a western disturbance (WD) over the hill regions of the country was behind the change in weather conditions in the state. It caused cloudy skies with light rain in some parts of western and central UP.In the east, overcast conditions at night led to an increase in the minimum temperature because the cloud cover did not allow the heat in the ground to escape into the atmosphere. However, the skies were clear by morning, leading to bright sunshine that made the maximum temperatures rise. As a result, in Lucknow, the maximum temperature was 29.5 degrees Celsius, 2.7 units above normal, and the minimum temperature was 16.8 degrees Celsius, 5.5 notches above normal. Surface winds were recorded at 10–15 kmph. Relative humidity hovered between 75% (maximum) and 34% (minimum). “The sky became clear in the morning because the WD fizzled out. Now, minimum temperatures would fall by 2–4 degrees Celsius over the next 48 hours in the city,” said senior scientist at the state met department Mohammad Danish.
