Lucknow: Emphasising that Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Project (UPCAMP) is a major initiative for public welfare aimed at improving air quality and safeguarding the health of citizens, minister of state for environment, forest and climate change (independent charge) AK Saxena on Tuesday directed the officials to expedite implementation of the project.Speaking at a high-level review meeting on World Bank-supported UPCAMP, the minister underlined the importance of the project in creating green jobs and building a green workforce to support long-term environmental and economic sustainability in the state.CEO, UPCAMP, B Chandrakala provided an overview of the project, its key milestones, and the targets to be achieved over the project period.UPCAMP received formal approval from the World Bank in Dec 2025, said the official, adding that an official request from the UP govt was forwarded to the central govt for the signing of tripartite agreement by the Uttar Pradesh govt, Centre, and the World Bank.
