Photo exhibition depicts many moods of Lord Ganesh | Lucknow News
Lucknow: A solo photography exhibition titled ‘Gajanan’ began at Kala Srot Art Gallery on Monday and will remain open to public till Feb 18.The exhibition features 38 high-resolution photographs by photographer Puneet Katyayan, capturing trees, in which the bark has organically taken shapes resembling different moods of Lord Ganesh. The images highlight nature’s ability to mirror spirituality without any human intervention. Katyayan said he spent nearly eight years walking through different monuments, heritage sites and colleges in Lucknow to document these formations shaped by time and nature.
Each frame has isolated natural bark formations that depict expressions of serenity, mischief, compassion and contemplation associated with the elephant-headed deity.“I did not alter or enhance the images and what people see is nature’s own artistry. In these lines and knots, I began to see different Bhavas of Lord Ganesh,” Puneet said.Artist Umesh Saxena lauded the concept of blending environmental consciousness with spiritual symbolism. “It reminds us that the divinity resides in the natural world”, said Umesh. The exhibition drew many art lovers and students. Fine art student Shreya Raghuvanshi said, “Pictures are so real. They appear like painted depiction of different emotions of Lord Ganesh.”
