Lucknow: Samajwadi Party on Saturday announced that it was prepared to lodge mass FIRs against attempts of the BJP government to force Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to introduce fake, double votes through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise presently underway. The party has already got a proforma of the police complaint drafted by a committee of top legal experts. This proforma is being sent to party’s Booth Level Agents (BLAs) across the state with a set of guidelines to look for missing links to decide if a particular case was fit for the FIR. In case the police desist from registering cases, the legal cell of the SP has been activated to move the district courts for orders to get FIRs lodged.“People sitting in the government have already issued instructions to the BLOs that each of them will have to add 200 votes. It is because of this reason that we have got a proforma made for lodging of FIRs. We will give this proforma to our cadres. If they come across any attempts to forcibly introduce fake or double votes, all they will have to do is to fill in the name and the rest of the complaint is ready. We will lodge FIRs,” Akhilesh said, interacting with the media at party headquarters in Lucknow on Saturday. The former UP CM said in case the police do not co-operate and agree to lodge FIRs, the SP’s law wing has been put on alert to move the local district court and seek directions for registration of FIRs. Party leaders said once the FIR is lodged, the matter will be pursued rigorously for further action.Akhilesh said the BJP govt has sent out particular officials to specific districts to ensure that the BLOs meet the target of adding 200 votes each. “The govt may not have mapped the SIR votes, but the BJP has first mapped officials of a particular ideology and then sent them to specific districts to see that the BLOs are meeting the target that has been secretly set for them. The govt should release the list of such officials,” Akhilesh said.He once again flagged the difference between the total count of voters in the list available with the ECI and those with the state election officials despite the fact that these lists have been prepared by the same set of BLOs and officials. “The easiest way to check duplicate votes is to link them with Aadhaar which is the most readily available identification document. The govt should link names in electoral rolls with Aadhaar numbers,” Akhilesh said.SP gives Rs 2L each to kin of two BLOs who ‘died due to SIR stress’Lucknow: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday gave away cheques of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the BLOs from Moradabad and Deoria who died allegedly following stress of meeting Special Intensive Revision (SIR) targets. Babli Devi, wife of Moradabad BLO Sarvesh Singh Jatav, and Kanchan Devi, wife of Deoria BLO Ashish Kumar, received cheques from Akhilesh Yadav before a press conference at the party office. While Sarvesh was a teacher at a composite college in Moradabad, Ashish Kumar was a lekhpal.
