‘Lucknow Darshan’ tour to cover nawabi charm

Lucknow: Highlighting that the ‘Lucknow Darshan’ initiative aims to reconnect people with the city’s rhythm, heritage and everyday life, tourism officials released the route map of the tour, due to commence from Tuesday.Though the elevated, guided city tour brings together Lucknow’s historic landmarks, cultural spaces and modern public areas in a single journey, it was not able to cover the charm of Nawabi Lucknow that is beyond the Residency.

The main reason cited by the officials was that the height of the railway bridge between KGMU’s orthopaedic block (limb centre) and the convention centre (which leads to Hussainabad) did not allow the movement of heavy vehicles. Ongoing construction work for the Green Corridor added to the problem. However, officials claimed that they were trying to sort the problem.Morning tour (8:30am-11:30am)The Lucknow Darshan electric double-decker bus departs from 1090 crossing at 8:30am, passing key landmarks before a 40-minute stop at the Residency. The tour then proceeds via Hazratganj to Vidhan Bhavan for another halt, followed by a 30-minute visit to UP Darshan park. Covering Raj Bhavan, Christ Church, Ambedkar Park and the Gomti riverfront, the tour returns to 1090 crossing by 11:30am.Evening tour (4pm-7pm)Starting at 4pm from 1090 crossing, the evening tour halts at UP Darshan park, then continues past the Gomti riverfront, Raj Bhavan and Christ Church to Vidhan Bhavan. It later reaches the Residency for the light-and-sound show, before passing Chattar Manzil and Begum Hazrat Mahal park. The tour concludes at Food Valley by 7pm.
