UP Police open recruitment for 32k constables & prison warders

Lucknow: Marking the beginning of the New Year with a major employment push, the Uttar Pradesh Police announced a mega direct recruitment drive for 32,679 posts of constables and jail warders. The detailed advertisement was released on the New Year’s Eve and uploaded on the official website of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB).The recruitment covers posts of constable civil police (male/female), constable PAC/Armed Police (Male), constable Special Security Force (Male), Female Constables for Women Battalions in Lucknow, Budaun and Gorakhpur, Constable Mounted Police (Male), and Jail Warder posts for both men and women.

The notification provides exhaustive details on eligibility conditions, educational and preferential qualifications, age limits, reservation norms, online application and fee payment procedures, certificate formats, the written examination pattern, the syllabus, document verification (DV), the Physical Standard Test (PST) and the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), including running events.Post-wise vacancies include 10,469 posts for Civil Police, 15,131 for PAC/Armed Police, 1,341 for Special Security Force, 2,282 for Women Battalions, 71 for Mounted Police, 3,279 for male Jail Warders and 106 for female Jail Warders. Officials clarified that PAC, Special Security Force and Mounted Police posts are open only to male candidates, while Women Battalion posts are exclusively for female candidates.Online applications opened on Dec 31 and will close on Jan 30, with the same timeline for fee submission. Candidates will be allowed to rectify fee-related issues between Jan 31 and Feb 2. Completing One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory prior to applying.Officials described the recruitment drive as a New Year initiative aimed at strengthening policing and prison administration while creating large-scale employment opportunities across Uttar Pradesh. Candidates have been advised to regularly check the board’s website for updates on examination schedules and subsequent stages of the selection process.
