Woman sub-inspector Gaurav Kumari was conferred Mission Shakti Award for exemplary sensitivity in handling women-related cases. In Oct, she intervened in a domestic harassment complaint at Aminabad police station, counselled both sides and ensured legal awareness, resulting in reunion of a broken family within 15 days. Over last three months, she successfully resolved 29 cases under Mission Shakti initiative.Sub-inspector Neha Kumari, posted at Women Police Station (North Zone), was honoured as Best Woman Cop of the City. During Navratri duty near Chandrika Devi temple, she found a six-year-old lost girl, comforted her and traced her family within six hours through public announcements.Constable Pushpa Yadav was felicitated for winning a gold medal in wrestling at the Under-23 Asian Championship, while head constable Amit Kumar Singh received the Most Cases Solved in a Year Award for recovering 101 missing girls and young women.Fireman Ashok Kumar was awarded Fire Safety Award for rescuing 15 children trapped in a factory fire in Aliganj, despite sustaining severe spinal injuries during the operation.Joint commissioner of police (law and order) Babloo Kumar expressed gratitude to the Times of India Group, saying such initiatives motivated police force to perform better. “These events encourage personnel to go beyond routine duty.
