I’m not manipulative neta, do things in simple way: Pankaj | Lucknow News
Later while speaking to the media separately Chaudhary said that he just spoke what he felt. “I just wish to take everyone along…,” he said. Chaudhary’s statement came just over a week after he said that he was not here to “rule” but to “play a role”. This was during a mega event when his appointment as the new state unit chief was announced by Union minister Piyush Goyal in Lucknow.A section of UP BJP leaders saw Chaudhary’s remark as an attempt to define his leadership style early in his tenure. By projecting his simplicity and straightforwardness, Chaudhary appeared keen on contrasting himself with the perception of hard-nosed political management that often resorts to a strict organisational control in a state like UP.Chaudhary maintained that for him a “karyakarta” (party worker) meant “everything”. “I will take all decisions after consulting party workers,” he asserted, thanking the party Central leadership for handing him the responsibility of UP.Responding to a question on appointment of relatively younger Nitin Nabin as the national working president, Chaudhary said that the BJP was a party which deployed its functionaries “as per the requirement”. “He (Nabin) was suited to play a national role while I was required to take charge of UP,” he stressed. The state chief, meanwhile, attacked the opposition’s Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak (PDA) poll narrative defining it as “Parivarik Dal Alliance”. “Political parties which have aligned in the opposition camp are all family based parties,” he said.He said that when SP came to power in 2012, the party chose late Mulayam Singh Yadav’s son Akhilesh as the CM. “They ignored the seniority of people like Azam Khan,” he said. This was in sharp contrast to BJP which elevated Kalyan Singh from the leader of opposition in 1984 to CM in 1991.Chaudhary said that his party was currently focussed on campaign related to Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter list, and preparing for PM Modi’s scheduled visit to Lucknow to inaugurate Rashtriya Prerna Sthal housing towering bronze statues of Jan Sangh and BJP stalwarts like Syama Prasad Mookherjee, Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He exuded confidence that the party would work unitedly to secure better results than the 2017 Assembly elections in the 2027 polls. He said that the party would observe former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary on December 25 under the ‘Atal Janm Shatabdi Samaroh Abhiyan’. He said party office-bearers, workers and public representatives along with local citizens will carry out cleanliness drives at the memorials of great personalities on Wednesday. He said that from December 25 to 31, the BJP will organise ‘Atal Smriti Sammelans’ in all 403 assembly constituencies of the state as part of ‘Good Governance Week’.
