‘Singapore team to explore investment prospects in UP’ | Lucknow News
Lucknow: A large industrial delegation from Singapore will soon visit Uttar Pradesh to explore investment opportunities, Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong, said on Thursday after meeting chief minister Yogi Adityanath.The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as skill development, infrastructure and culture. Wong, who had met Yogi during the latter’s recent visit to Singapore, called the CM’s trip “highly successful” and said it conveyed a positive and reliable message about UP not just in Singapore but also among neighbouring countries. “Singaporean companies already operating in UP have conveyed a highly favourable opinion of UP and are looking to expand their investments further in the state. The global industrial community now sees UP as a center of new opportunities and possibilities, which will play an important role in taking India-Singapore relations to greater heights,” Wong said. He also expressed his appreciation for the development in the state over the past nine years, especially in law and order, infrastructure and industrial development.While discussing cooperation in the field of culture, the potential of Kushinagar and Sarnath as important Buddhist tourism destinations was deliberated upon, and both sides agreed to further strengthen partnerships in the tourism sector. Yogi said: “State govt is committed to providing investors with a secure, transparent and industry-friendly environment. Improved law and order, modern infrastructure, strong connectivity and a skilled workforce make UP an ideal destination for investment.” He described Singapore as a world-class economic and technological partner and expressed his commitment for long-term and result-oriented cooperation. “I am confident that the upcoming Singapore delegation’s visit will open new avenues of investment and partnership between the two sides,” he said.
