UP Police SI, ASI results declared; 912 candidates selected

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board on Thursday announced the final selection results for recruitment to the posts of sub-inspector (confidential), assistant sub-inspector (clerk), and assistant sub-inspector (accounts) in the Uttar Pradesh Police.The recruitment process was initiated through a notification issued on Dec 28, 2023, inviting online applications for 921 vacancies across the three categories. Against these posts, 912 candidates have been selected based on merit and reservation norms. According to the board, the selected candidates include 242 from the unreserved and economically weaker sections (EWS), 464 from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 197 from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and 9 from the Scheduled Tribes (ST). Notably, 178 women candidates have also been selected. The selection process included written examination, document verification, physical standard test and computer typing test. For the post of SI (confidential), candidates were additionally required to qualify in a stenography test. The board has published category-wise cutoff marks for all three posts. For SI (confidential), the cutoff for unreserved candidates stood at 316.26 marks, while for ASI (clerk), it was 334.60 marks, and for ASI (accounts), 318.60 marks. Cutoffs varied across categories in accordance with reservation provisions. The result, along with merit lists arranged category-wise and overall rankings, has been uploaded on the official website of the board and candidates can check the same by entering their registration number and date of birth. Officials clarified that the selection remains provisional and subject to medical examination, verification of educational qualifications, reservation certificates and character verification. The board also stated that in cases of tied scores, merit has been determined based on higher qualifications, age, and alphabetical order of names, as per rules.
