Ordeal not over yet in capital as consumers struggle for LPG refill | Lucknow News
Lucknow: LPG consumers in Lucknow are facing major inconvenience as cylinders are not being delivered on time despite advance bookings, leaving households without cooking gas for days. The issue, residents say, is not shortage, but breakdown in delivery and response systems, forcing people to rely on costly and inconvenient alternatives while making repeated, often futile, visits to gas agencies.A student, Ajay Kumar, said, “No gas, no food—I might have to leave the city.” Noori said repeated visits to the agency yielded no result. “I keep going back, but no one gives a clear answer,” she said.Small businesses are taking a big hit. An eatery owner in Kapoorthala said, “We’ve cut down daytime operations as there’s not enough gas.” A tea vendor added, “If supply doesn’t come soon, I’ll have to shut down.”At agencies, long queues and server issues have worsened the situation. One consumer said, “Hours in queue, but no update—just the ‘server down’ message every time.”Ravi Pandey echoed the frustration, saying “I left work to fetch a cylinder, but saw the crowd and returned empty-handed.”Sagun Balram from Jankipuram said his cylinder, booked on Mar 3, is still pending. Describing hardship during Ramazan, Afifa Qureshi from Nazarbagh said, “Cooking became a daily struggle—we had no choice but to shift to induction cooker.”In some cases, families have been forced to relocate temporarily. Hajra Bano said, “Our cylinder ran out and we had to move to a relative’s house.”With no clear resolution and systems failing to respond, residents say the crisis is turning from inconvenience into daily hardship.(Mariyam Shakeel, Shruti Shukla, Amritansh Singh)
