Rehab varsity to convert books into audio resourse | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Dr Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) has introduced a facility to convert books into audiobooks on demand, making learning more accessible for students, especially those who are visually impaired. The task will be done at the ‘talking book studio’ in the university’s Swami Vivekananda central library. The studio will covert books into audiobooks using a special software. In-charge of the library, Yashwant Veeroday said the studio currently houses more than 3,500 audiobooks, which are particularly beneficial for visually impaired and differently-abled learners. Apart from literary works, the collection also includes academic material related to various university courses.The studio provides audiobooks for 54 higher education courses, along with NCERT textbooks from class 6-12. In addition, it offers audiobooks of plays, stories, novels and preparation material for competitive examinations such as UGC-NET, SSC, UP TET, CTET, and CCC. Audiobooks related to environmental studies and English speaking courses are also available.
