The committee said that the ownership of the land falling in project alignment, besides basic layout and character of the parks, cannot be altered.Officials said that if green cover was affected during construction, restoration would be carried out by the Lucknow Development Authority at its own cost.“The committee gave conditional approval, keeping in mind that the project is important for improving city traffic. However, strict instructions were given to ensure that the park’s structures and greenery remain protected,” an LDA official said.The flyover will start from Baikunth Dham and extend up to La Martiniere College. The four-lane structure will be about 2.02km long and will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 570 crore.Project manager of Green Corridor AK Sengar said, “The flyover is expected to ease congestion at the 1090 crossing and Samta Mulak crossing, which often witness traffic bottlenecks.”According to proposed alignment, pillars of the flyover will be constructed near Gomti Vihar (blocks 1, 2 and 3).
