Respect President’s office, says Mayawati | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Dubbing the alleged lapses during the President’s visit to West Bengal as extremely unfortunate, BSP chief Mayawati on Sunday said that whatever happened during the visit of Droupadi Murmu should not have happened.“According to the ideals and moral values of the Constitution, it is essential for everyone to respect the office of the President and adhere to its protocol. It is not appropriate to politicise this position in any way,” she posted on X.
Mayawati said that the President of the country is not only a woman but also belongs to the tribal community.Over the past few months, the politicisation of the position of Speaker of Lok Sabha in Parliament was also inappropriate, she said, adding that it would be better if everyone rose above party politics to respect and honour constitutional positions.“In this context, the session of Parliament starting tomorrow should run smoothly in the interest of the nation and the people,” she added.
