UP records growth in residential solar installations | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh has recorded a steady month-on-month growth in residential rooftop solar installations between Aug 2025 and Jan 2026, placing the state among leading regions in the country for adopting new solar capacity.The highest number of new rooftop systems were installed in 10 key districts including Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur Nagar, Bareilly, Prayagraj, Agra, Jhansi, Rae Bareli, Shahjahanpur, and Saharanpur.“Improvements such as a simplified online application system, direct transfer of financial support to beneficiaries, and faster approvals by distribution companies have also contributed to higher installation rates,” an official said.
