Varanasi cruise project follows full regulatory compliance: minister | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh on Thursday said that five govt and two private cruises were operational in Varanasi. He was responding to a query on cruise operations in Varanasi raised by Samajwadi Party MLC Ashutosh Sinha in the Vidhan Parishad.
“Their operations are governed by standards set by the Inland Waterways Authority of India and the Uttar Pradesh Inland Waterways Authority, and compliance is being ensured,” said Singh. Adding that the UP authority was constituted in Dec 2023, he noted that the transport department was designated as the nodal agency.
