Two held for slashing neck of sister’s lover with surgical blade | Lucknow News
Lucknow: In a shocking incident from Lucknow’s Para, a 25-year-old man narrowly survived after his girlfriend’s brothers allegedly entered his home on the pretext of delivering a gift and attacked him with a surgical blade, making a deep cut in his neck. The victim required 18 stitches and is currently said to be out of danger.The incident took place on Sunday evening in Khushhalganj.
The injured man, Mahendra Kannaujia (25), was reportedly in a relationship with 27-year-old Sunedha Gautam, a resident of Kakori. According to the FIR lodged by Mahendra’s father, Santu, the woman was invited to their house on February 15 for a discussion regarding the relationship. However, the woman did not turn up; instead, her brothers, Shivam Gautam (27) and Anurag Gautam (19), allegedly arrived at the house gate, claiming they brought a gift. Once allowed inside, they entered the verandah and suddenly attacked Mahendra.“They overpowered my son, threw him to the ground, and slit his throat with a surgical blade,” Santu said in his complaint.The sudden assault created panic in the household. Mahendra’s father and uncle immediately intervened, wrested the blade from the attackers, and overpowered both brothers before handing them over to the police.Mahendra lost consciousness due to heavy bleeding and was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors administered 18 stitches to his neck. His condition is now stable.Police registered a case under sections 109(1) (attempt to murder) and 333 (house trespass) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with other relevant provisions. Para station house officer Suresh Singh confirmed that the accused were detained and questioned.“Legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation,” the SHO said.
