Lucknow Metro launches QR-based ticketing | Lucknow News
Lucknow: The Lucknow Metro on Monday introduced a QR-based ticketing system, enabling passengers to book tickets directly from their mobile phones and travel conveniently across the metro network.Under the new system, passengers can purchase QR tickets through the Lucknow Metro official mobile app, available on both Android and iOS platforms. Digital QR tickets generated through the app can be scanned at automatic fare collection (AFC) gates marked with yellow stripes. Paper-based QR tickets are also available at ticket counters and newly-installed QR-enabled ticket vending machines (TVMs) at every metro station. Each station has been equipped with at least one QR-supported TVM and one QR-enabled counter to ensure smooth access for passengers, said an official.
Besides, UPI payment options have been enabled on QR-supported machines, while token-based facilities will continue to operate on other TVMs. Special QR support stickers have been placed on designated machines to help passengers identify them easily.
