Lucknow: Aviation entrepreneur Shravan Kumar Vishwakarma, chairman of Shankh Airlines, announced that the airline will begin operations in April with an initial focus on Lucknow-Delhi connectivity, starting with five flights.Positioning aviation as a necessity rather than a luxury, Vishwakarma made it clear that the venture is driven by conviction: “In this industry, you are either at the top or you close your venture. There is no middle path.”He reflected on UP’s rapidly evolving aviation ecosystem and its role in enabling new entrants like Shankh Airlines. The airlines will commence operations with five flights, primarily connecting Lucknow and Delhi. The airline plans to gradually expand as infrastructure and demand scale up.Vishwakarma credited Uttar Pradesh’s expanding airport network — from Jewar to Ayodhya — as a major catalyst for aviation growth. “As the number of airlines increases, demand will rise, and so will the need for infrastructure,” he said, adding that improved airport facilities across the state have made it viable for new carriers to enter the market. “Air travel should not remain a luxury experience. It must become a regular mode of transport,” Vishwakarma said.
