Significant emphasis was also placed on technological strengthening. The budget included Rs 15 lakh for computer hardware and software procurement, Rs 16 lakh for computer maintenance and related stationery, Rs 15 lakh for office furniture and equipment, Rs 5 lakh for telephone expenses and Rs 15 lakh for printing and stationery. Additionally, Rs 17 lakh was earmarked for vehicle maintenance and fuel, Rs 10 lakh for professional and specialised services, Rs 10 lakh for training-related travel and allied expenses, Rs 30 lakh for outsourcing services and Rs 50 lakh for medical expenditure. Provisions were also made for advertisement, secret service expenditure, and other miscellaneous operational costs. Beyond the revenue component, the govt sanctioned Rs 2.42 crore. Officials said the move will enhance mobility, improve on-ground response to cyber complaints, facilitate digital evidence collection, and strengthen coordination between cyber cells and local police units. With cyber fraud cases such as digital arrest scams, OTP frauds, phishing, cryptocurrency fraud and social media-based financial crimes witnessing a surge, the allocation is aimed at making cyber police stations more technologically equipped, professionally trained and operationally agile. The move signals the state govt’s intent to build a robust cyber security architecture capable of tackling increasingly sophisticated digital crimes while ensuring faster grievance redressal for victims across UP.
