Nishad Party event gives political messaging to allies & oppn | Lucknow News
Lucknow: The presence of BJP ministers and allies at the Nishad Party’s Sankalp Diwas in Lucknow sent out a political message to both the Nishad voters and the opposition parties in UP.To Nishad voters, it showed their political significance and their importance to the ally BJP. To the opposition, it signalled that the BJP alliance is not letting Nishads go away. With the assembly elections just a year away, Nishad Party chief and cabinet minister Sanjay Nishad strategically organised the party’s annual event, Sankalp Diwas, in Lucknow on Tuesday and invited the BJP and other allies. The party has been organising Sankalp Diwas since 2013 where every time it reiterates the demand for SC status to Nishad sub-castes in UP.The highlight of this year’s event was Union minister Kiren Rijiju’s assurance that BJP and Nishad Party are a family alliance and that BJP shares the same concern for issues that matter to the Nishad Party. Rijiju further assured that all such issues will be resolved together with full support from the BJP central leadership. The Sankalp Diwas was also attended by UP deputy CMs, Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, SBSP chief and cabinet minister OP Rajbhar, and office bearers of Apna Dal (S). SBSP and AD (S) are the other two allies of BJP in UP.The collective show of strength by the BJP and allies at the event was more for the opposition parties like the Samajwadi Party, which has been trying to claim Nishad votes in UP with its PDA plank.Keshav Maurya’s assertion that the BJP has not lost elections in UP since 2019 when Nishad Party joined the alliance was seen as a clear message to Nishad voters that they are crucial for the alliance to win elections.Om Prakash Rajbhar highlighted the joint strength of Rajbhar and Nishad voters by saying that no party can form govt in UP without the support of SBSP and the Nishad Party.
