Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday asked party cadre and PDA prahris to keep a close watch on the second phase of ongoing SIR and make sure that names of members of the PDA community were not left out of the electoral rolls as a part of any design.“Keep a close watch on the filing of forms for inclusion of names in the electoral rolls. There are reports that people in the govt have already assigned booth level officers tasks to add 200 names each at every booth. We have to make sure that only rightful claims are entertained. We have to help legitimate members of the PDA community to fill up their forms and get their names into the electoral rolls. There is no scope for any carelessness or lethargy,” Akhilesh told party functionaries and cadre at the party office. He asked the cadre to identify first time voters and help them fill-up Form 6 to get their names enrolled in the electoral rolls. “Mislead and loot is BJP’s nature. We have to be alert and foil such attempts by raising our voice at the right forum,” he said.Expressing concern over the spike in crime against women and minor girls, steep jump in the count of cybercrime cases and rising joblessness the former UP CM said the BJP govt has failed on all fronts and was now trying to switch over to its favourite option of politics of hate.Questioning BJP’s claims that before 2017 (implying that under SP govt) Uttar Pradesh was riddled with ‘updrav’ (nuisance) but has now transformed into ‘utsav’ (celebration), Akhilesh said what kind of celebration was this where people were not allowed to host feasts. Akhilesh’s statement was in apparent reference to the exception taken by BJP top brass to a bati-chokha feast organised by Brahmin MLAs recently as a show of strength.BOXPays tribute to VvekanandLucknow: Paying tributes to Swami Vivekanand on his birth anniversary, Akhilesh Yadav said his life was in itself a call for internal freedom and independence for every individual. Akhilesh said the very essence of SwamI Vivekanand’s teachings was hidden in the meaning of his name itself – ‘Vivek’ – which implied to one using his own wisdom to differentiate between right and wrong to attain ‘anand’ (joy) – thereby denouncing mental slavery. Akhilesh also handed over a cash prize of Rs 51,000 to Awadesh Kumar Sahu of Lucknow who was initially selected for UP Vivekanand Award, was formally invited for the event in writing, but later his name was dropped for reasons known to the organisers.
