AI, quantum computing discussed

Lucknow: Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh, India’s first AI-augmented multidisciplinary university, in collaboration with UP govt, hosted the AI Convergence Summit 2026, a pre-event to the India AI Impact Global Summit 2026 in New Delhi.The summit brought together AI and technology experts from the USA, Denmark, Germany, UK, and India, including policymakers, global industry leaders, researchers, startup founders, investors, and academicians, to discuss opportunities and challenges in Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing. As part of the summit, Chandigarh University UP organized India’s first AI Healthcare Hackathon with over 1,500 teams and 5,000 youth participants working on more than 100 problem statements provided by govt agencies and industry partners, aiming to develop AI augmented healthcare solutions.

Rajya Sabha member and Chancellor, Chandigarh University UP, Satnam Singh Sandhu said, “The summit provides young innovators a platform to interact with global AI experts and understand govt policies and welfare initiatives using AI. It bridges India’s AI policy framework with real-world deployment, fostering collaboration across academia, industry, government, and the startup ecosystem.”
