KGMU gets govt nod for FNB course

Lucknow: King George’s Medical University (KGMU) received an essentiality certificate from the UP govt to launch a fellow of national board (FNB) course in trauma anaesthesiology and critical care, becoming the first institution in the state to offer the super-specialty programme.The FNB is a post-MBBS programme aimed at providing focused training in functional medical areas. The trauma anaesthesiology and critical care course prepares doctors to manage critically injured and severely ill patients.The 2-year course will start with two seats and was cleared as per National Medical Commission (NMC) norms.KGMU spokesperson Prof KK Singh said, “The unit has a dedicated 20-bed facility, adequate clinical material and qualified faculty. Preparations are underway to start a DM course in trauma anaesthesiology and critical care.”
