CM inspects night shelters, gives blankets to needy

Varanasi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that in past 11 years, Varanasi has received development projects worth over Rs 53,000 crore.“Of these, two-third projects have been completed while remaining projects are in progress,” he said.

Besides reviewing the progress of the ongoing projects in Varanasi, the CM also inspected night shelters created for pilgrims who have arrived from across the country.The CM also distributed blankets among people staying at the Town Hall night shelter on Saturday evening. Yogi said, “Local administration and VMC are operating 28 night shelters in the city. There clear instructions that nobody should stay in open during extreme weather.”Sufficient funds and arrangements are made across the state to keep needy and poor protected during cold weather, he said, adding that distribution of woollen clothes and bonfire are also being ensured to protect people from intense cold.
