Regular monitoring of townships to start

Lucknow: Residents of private townships here will benefit from regular monitoring of basic facilities after directions issued by divisional commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant during a meeting of the LDA on Monday. Pant ordered strict oversight of infrastructure in townships developed by private builders to prevent inconvenience to residents. He said STPs be inspected by the Pollution Control Board and subjected to regular BOD, COD and faecal coliform tests. Monitoring of power substations, sewer lines, and other essential services was also mandated. Officials reviewed the progress of proposed residential schemes—Varun Vihar, Naimish Nagar, IT City, and Wellness City—where land pooling and purchase work was found satisfactory. tnn
