Discontent pushing BJP MLAs to rebellion levels, says Akhilesh | Lucknow News
“By holding separate meetings, the BJP MLAs are trying to send out a message that neither the BJP government and the party organisation nor BJP affiliates are listening to them as a result of which their recommendations for public works are not being attended to. This means when their performance will be assessed before the elections in terms of works done by these MLAs through a survey, these MLAs will fail. This is the fundamental reason why these MLAs are getting together to explain their position in advance,” Akhilesh said.Akhilesh said the restlessness among the MLAs also stems from the chief minister’s announcement that of the 2.89 crore names deleted from the electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls, 85% to 90% are those of BJP voters. He said if 2.89 crore voters are divided into 403 assembly constituencies of the state, it would translate to deletion of 61,000 votes in every assembly constituency on an average.Going by the CM’s claim that these are BJP voters, it means that the party will get 61,000 less votes in every assembly constituency. By this calculation it means that the BJP will not be able to secure seats in double digits, what to talk of forming the government after the 2027 assembly polls, Akhilesh said.Tributes paid to B’khand kingLucknow: Rich floral tributes were paid to Maharaja Khet Singh Khangar at a meeting organised to mark his birth anniversary at Samajwadi Party headquarters in Lucknow on Saturday. In his address, SP national secretary and former cabinet minister Rajendra Chaudhary, who presided over the event, recalled how Maharaja Khet Singh Khangar, a known able warrior himself, had helped Prithviraj Chuhan win conquests.
