Tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh said the Shobha Yatra will focus on iconic forts such as Kalinjar, Jhansi, Orchha, Charkhari, and Mahoba, which symbolise Bundelkhand’s bravery, craftsmanship, and architectural excellence. He said preparations are underway, and the process to select an implementing agency has already begun. Designed as a strong visual narrative, the Shobha Yatra will trace Bundelkhand’s journey through its ancient architecture, folk traditions, local art forms, and traditional lifestyle. Historical symbols of courage, self-respect, and resistance that shaped the region’s character will form the core of the presentation. Along with heritage, the tableau will also underline Bundelkhand’s tourism potential, presenting its forts and palaces as major attractions for domestic and international travellers interested in history and culture. The cultural procession will feature Bundeli folk dancers and performers in traditional attire, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of dhol and nagada, creating a vibrant and immersive cultural experience for spectators. For execution, the tourism department has invited proposals through an e-tender process. The selected agency will be responsible for the overall concept, creative design, integration of innovative elements, including robotic features, and symbolic portrayal of Bundelkhand’s heroic legacy. Calling it more than just a cultural display, Singh said the Shobha Yatra would be “a celebration of Bundelkhand’s courage, self-respect, and rich heritage.” Principal secretary, tourism and culture, Amrit Abhijat, added that the initiative would give new momentum to the region’s identity and tourism prospects through a dignified and innovative national presentation.
