Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will chair the conference which will be held at the UP Police headquarters in Lucknow.Addressing a press conference on Friday, DGP Rajeev Krishna said the decision to replace Police Week with a structured conference reflects the state govt’s focus on people-centric policing, technology-led crime control, and strategic preparedness to deal with emerging security challenges. “The conference is designed as a high-level policy and review platform that will define the future course of policing in Uttar Pradesh,” the DGP said. The conference will have 11 thematic sessions, with presentations by 11 senior nodal IPS officers, supported by 45 police officers. Each session will address a core area that will shape policing priorities in the coming years. On the opening day, the sessions will focus on beat policing, crimes against women, children and human trafficking, and police station management and infrastructure upgradation. The afternoon sessions will take up cybercrime, human resource development, welfare, behaviour and training, prosecution and prison reforms, and CCTNS 2.0, Nyay Sanhita, and forensics. On the concluding day, discussions will centre on disaster management, civil defence, and home guards, followed by a dedicated session on large crowd management. Subsequent sessions will address intelligence and emerging challenges, including the role of social media, NGOs, and the Nepal border, and anti-terror operations, narcotics, cattle theft, and other organised crimes. Special attention will be given to financially driven cyber and organised crimes, which are increasingly replacing conventional crime patterns. The DGP said the CM will actively engage in all sessions, and after reviewing the deliberations, will share his guidance and concluding directions. Highlighting cybercrime as a nationwide challenge, the DGP said Uttar Pradesh has taken “concrete and measurable steps” in the last three months, including cyber help facilities at the police station level with trained personnel, making UP one of the leading states in this domain. Special attention will be given to financially driven cyber and organised crimes, which are increasingly replacing conventional crime patterns. On forensics, he said the new criminal laws mandate forensic examination in all cases carrying more than seven years of punishment, making timely evidence collection, laboratory testing, and expert availability a key focus area.“Over the past several years, Uttar Pradesh Police recorded notable successes. This conference is meant to institutionalise those gains and prepare the force for future challenges in a rapidly evolving crime landscape,” the DGP said.
