Site of Bangla Bazaar’s Tuesday market shifted | Lucknow News
Lucknow: In a move aimed at easing traffic congestion and ensuring smooth movement of emergency services, Lucknow Police shifted the Mangal Bazaar under Krishnanagar police station to a newly designated location.The market was moved from Bangla Bazaar crossing area to service lane of PWD Road near irrigation department colony, where it has been arranged in a more systematic manner.
The market, which operated at the earlier spot for nearly 12 years, was relocated on Tuesday with the support of Lucknow Municipal Corporation and traffic police, said Lucknow Police.“The decision was taken to improve traffic flow, reduce inconvenience to commuters and ensure unobstructed passage for ambulances and fire services,” said Nipun Agarwal, DCP Traffic.ACP (Krishnanagar) Rajneesh Verma said the relocation was carried out after detailed planning and coordination with all stakeholders. “Mangal Bazaar was being held at a spot that caused traffic bottlenecks, especially near major intersections and hospitals. Keeping public convenience and emergency services in mind, the market has now been successfully shifted to a new site,” Verma said.Agarwal said meetings were held in advance with market representatives, traders, municipal officials and traffic police to discuss transition and address concerns. During the relocation, coordination was maintained with traders and local residents to ensure a smooth shift without law and order issues.
