Lucknow: Braving the cold, Lucknow showed up in full strength on Sunday as the Repertwahr Festival unfolded in all its cultural glory. Wrapped in shawls and smiles, the city celebrated art, music, and poetry.Before the sessions began, the bustling crowd enjoyed the breezy atmosphere. Many were engaged in pottery-making classes, getting their caricatures made, and trying their hands at different delectables—from the city’s best Tundey Kebabs to indulging in sushi and cakes. The photo booth at the fest was a major hit, with several people lined up to get their best shots clicked.A legendary voice in contemporary Urdu poetry, Waseem Barelvi’s words flowed with depth and timeless emotion as he recited some of his famous couplets and ghazals. At the Shabd stage, his soulful verses touched many hearts. Later, when indie singer and songwriter Ankur Tewari took centre stage, the audience grooved to his famous melodies, including ‘Gehraiyan’ and ‘Dil Beparvah’.This was followed by stand-up comedy by Gurleen Pannu, who, with sharp humour and fearless storytelling, quickly built a strong connection with the audience. Theatre lovers on the last day saw the unity and power of women through the play ‘Ambaa’. Another show-stealer was the silent disco by DJ Sangria. “I came for the silent disco today as it is a great thing to try at least once ,” said Anushree Ghosh, a visitor.The defining highlight of the day was the Euphoria band, igniting waves of nostalgia. With iconic tracks like ‘Maaeri’ and ‘Dhoom Pichak Dhoom’, the venue reverberated like a chorus-filled arena of emotion and music.
